Chloe's Cantina & Courtyard

Come on in, Edward!

Months ago, I saw a new visitor in the Courtyard, but I hadn't seen him back – until the other day.

Meet Edward, the White-crowned Sparrow.

IMG_7156 Hi Edward!

Edward may have a crown, but he is far from being a raucous royal. Named after Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn, who was known as a shy and reserved individual who felt uncomfortable in the spotlight, Edward has been timid about coming into the Cantina, but he is slowly building confidence.

IMG_7139A Can you see me?

Edward spends much time hopping around the vine looking carefully at the Cantina. Then he hops in, grabs a seed, and turns back to the thicket.

He also enjoys hopping around the brick, picking up the tossed seeds.

Since seeing him back on Friday, I've seen Edward at the Cantina all weekend.

He may be shy, but it seems he is quickly becoming a regular.

Come to the Cantina any time, Edward! There is plenty of seed for you.
